The FT QL is a bit too vintage to compare with the AE-1. It isn't a great current choice for active FD photography. The AE-1 is a far more capable camera that was designed for FD lenses and full aperture metering signals, and also uses a currently available battery. WebThe Canon equivalent of the F2 would be the Canon F1 or F1n. The Nikon F3 and the Canon New F1 are equivalent. As for the Nikon equivalent of the Canon AE-1 I’m not sure. Probably Nikon FE or Nikon FG. Canon is a consumer grade camera, the F2 is more pro, but an older model that just won’t die.
